We Remember

Image from outontheporch.org

We drove by Arlington National Cemetery yesterday just like we do every single day. Mini K knows it is a cemetery for soldiers...and all soldiers are heroes. Memorial Day weekend is like no other in Washington, D.C. due to the motorcyclists. They all park at the Pentagon.

We pass the Pentagon on the way home just after we pass Arlington. Yesterday Mini K asked if all of the motorcyclists were there to say thank you. We told her they were infact there to say thank you. Her response was so simple yet so powerful, heaven has the best soldiers anywhere.

So today on Memorial Day, before you head to the pool, the beach or wherever you are going, remember you are able to go there in freedom and peace because someone paid the ultimate sacrifice for you..without knowing you, but believing in you.

Thank you to all of the men and women in uniform who have served and are serving our country and to their families. We are grateful and humbled by your service!

Memorial Day

This morning I am home with my children. I am home while so many brave men and women are not. Mini K will ponder what cereal to have for breakfast and whether she wants to ride her bike or her scooter, while so many children are dealing with the loss of a parent.

Saying thank you on this day just doesn't seem like enough.

Today we remember our heroes...the men and women who gave their lives so that we may have our own. I hope they know how much they mean to us.

If you see a military service member today or a military family say thank you, but most of all remember that their job keeps you and your loved safe...and FREE.

God Bless Our Military and God Bless America!

For Those Who Serve

Image courtesy of the Memorial Day Project.
Thank you to all of the men and women who serve this great country so that we may live our lives in freedom.  Some of you made it home and some of you did not.  You and your families live in sacrifice each and every day and for that we are a truly grateful nation.

To al of my fabulous readers, the next time you see a man or woman in uniform take the time to go up and say thank you!  It is a small gesture and one they ALL DESERVE.

For those men and woman serving in battle today, come home when your job is done and know that a nation awaits your safe return.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you today.

God Bless America!
