Grove Gal E and I had a great trunk show on Tuesday...we were still placing orders from it on Wednesday.
I then had the best Thanksgiving ever. My mom was finally cleared by her doctor to come to D.C. and meet Baby C. Some of you may remember that she came down with West Vile virus in September 2009, 9 people contracted it that weekend, 3 lived. She was the oldest survivor. The virus left my daily power walking moter unable to use her legs, confined to a wheelchair. Along her road to recovery she got a sore throat...most of us would have ignored her, but she insisted on a scan. That scan, and her stubborn demand for the scan saved her life...again. It was thyroid cancer. Two surgeries and radiation meant she couldn't be around Baby C until the radiation eased in her system.
She is now on crutches and vows she will be back to power walking in a year. She is cancer free. But what I am most thankful for is the fact that she is the same, positive, alive and smiling. This is mom's third fight with cancer, and knock on wood, she has won every round! She says the West Nile was tougher than all of the cancer treatments combined.
Mini K is thrilled she is wel enough to travel and be here, and the smile on Baby C's face when he saw the face that went with the voice made me realize that Thanksgiving shouldn't be the one day where we stop and are thankful. It should be EVERY single day, because you never know...
I hope each anf every one of you had a great Thanksgiving. Tomorrow we are putting up the Christmas decor as I want to enjoy every possible day with it!
Check back tomorrow, because the Grove will be offering our best ever Cyber Monday special...let's just say that EVERYTHING will be on sale!!!!!!!!!!
